Glenn Roth

Blue Bamboo Center for the Arts, 1905 Kentucky Ave, Winter Park

Glenn is a fingerstyle guitarist, his thumb riding the bassline and the melody driving all. His compositions suggest multiple guitars, but it’s really just one guy, ten flying fingers, one instrument. All instrumental, Glenn’s songs suggest moods and narratives that compel the listener to fill in the details.

Glenn is a licensed performer in the MTA’s “Music under New York” program, playing for the most distracted and demanding audience in the world: legions of workers rushing to jobs throughout the Big Apple. And his fingers work magic, creating a soundscape of compelling melodies that invite them to leave the city rush behind on an aural escape.

He also plays regularly throughout the northeast and tours nationally & internationally to bring his music to new fans and locales.

Glenn has released six CDs to date: Innovations (2005), Busker (2006), Into the Unknown (2010), Welcome Home (2016), Got It Covered (2017) and a holiday CD. His original compositions have been hailed as “sheer virtuosity” and “delicate, accomplished solo acoustic guitar work” (PLAY: New Haven Arts & Entertainment Weekly). Glenn has shared bills with Stephen Bennett, Monty Montgomery, Tuck & Patti, Bucky Pizzarelli, Carl Verheyen, Don Ross, Antoine Dufour, and Vicky Genfan, among others.

Ben Rosenblum Trio

Blue Bamboo Center for the Arts, 1905 Kentucky Ave, Winter Park

Award-winning jazz pianist, composer and accordionist Ben Rosenblum has been described as “mature beyond his years,” (Jon Neudorf, Sea of Tranquility), and as an “impressive talent” (C. Michael Bailey, All About Jazz), who “caresses [the music] with the reverence it merits” (Bob Doerschuk, Downbeat Magazine). Ben is based primarily in New York City, and is a graduate of the Columbia-Juilliard program (in 2016). His original music combines his extensive knowledge of the history of jazz with a free-wheeling, modern melodic sensibility and powerful narrative approach to the piano. His profound passion for jazz, swing and world music genres finds expression in his unique fusion of harmonic and rhythmic elements from a wide array of sources, and gives rise to a signature compositional sound and style at once iconoclastic and deeply rooted in such figures as Bill Evans and Wynton Kelly. Ben's first priority in his composition and in his playing is always narrative – to tell a compelling story with his music, while reaching the hearts of his audience, connecting on an emotional, an intellectual and a spiritual level.

Jazz has only been around for only the last 100 years, give or take a few years and there have been many different instrumentations over the years, but maybe none of them have been more popular than the traditional combination of piano, bass and drums. The big name trios come to mind immediately: Oscar Peterson, Bill Evans, Chick Corea, Ray Brown, Bud Powell, Tommy Flanigan, Herbie Hancock, Ahmad Jamal, George Shearing, Bill Charlap, Shelley Manne, Jeff Hamilton, and the list goes on and on and on. As a trio, they have recorded four CDs exclusively on the ARBORS Jazz label. www.arborsrecords.com

As a trio, Rossano, Nicki and Eddie have played together since 2008 when they appeared together at the Arbors Jazz Party in Clearwater, FL.
