Join one of Central Florida's top pianists, Russian-born Sergei Kossenko on a "time-machine trip" into Peter Tchaikovsky's life and music. One may be surprised by how much influence Tchaikovsky's compositional approach exudes, quietly—or not so quietly—, on yesteryear's and contemporary popular genres. Custom piano transcriptions of some of Tchaikovsky's most moving symphonic works will be heard, along with his lighter works for the piano, sprinkled with relevant stories, anecdotes, and musical analyses—all to a visual counterpoint of period photographs, artwork, and pages from Tchaikovsky's original scores.
