The Downtown Trio, featuring David Pate, saxes, Michael Ross, bass, and John Jenkins, drums have been performing together for 33 years, starting with The Clearwater Jazz Holiday in 1984. The Trio will present a concert of high energy jazz featuring the compositions of Ornette Coleman, Sam Rivers, Pate, and Ross. Other interpretations of jazz standards, some improvisations will also be included and maybe a Hendrix tune. These ( old) friends have been playing no holds barred jazz for a long time...Should be fun.
