Jeff Rupert Quartet

Blue Bamboo Center for the Arts, 1905 Kentucky Ave, Winter Park

Tonight Jeff and his group play classics from Broadway and the Silver screen!

Featuring Jeff on saxophone, Marty Morell on drums, Richard Drexler on piano and Ben Kramer on bass.

Jeff is a Yamaha performing artist, a record producer, recording artist, freelance tenor saxophonist, full-time professor, and Director of Jazz Studies at the University of Central Florida (UCF).

Each month Dr Rupert presents a unique program of jazz standards, infused with his unique perspective as a player in many of the legendary bands that made them famous. His stints as a sideman with some of jazz' luminaries like Benny Carter, Dianne Shuur, Mel Torme, and Ray Drummond lend authenticity to the proceedings, and Jeff discusses his time with the masters as part of the program. As informative as it is entertaining.

Jeff's sidemen have also shared the stage with the best of the best of this genre. Marty Morell performed as part of the famed Bill Evans trio, and Richard Drexler's resume reads like a who's who of the genre. Every show is a master class. Varied guest artists add to the variety.
