Michelle Mailhot and friends 80s Reimagined
Orlando’s preeminent vocalist, Michelle Mailhot is also in demand as an arranger, adjudicator and clinician. Michelle has performed extensively at Walt Disney World and on several Disney recordings. She tours and performs with the Drama Desk Award winning group Toxic Audio. Her cabaret show “A Tribute to Johnny Mercer” was presented in 2010 to sold-out houses at Mad Cow Theatre in Orlando, Florida.
Mailhot has performed and/or recorded with Bobby McFerrin, the Billy Taylor Trio, Mel Torme, Max Roach, Sheila Jordan, Sandy Patti, Thomas Dolby, Don Shelton of the Hi-Lo’s and Liza Minelli.
For this event, Michelle is presenting hits from the 1980s with a group of esteemed musicians, in the style of Dirty Loops. For those who are unfamiliar, Dirty Loops are a Swedish trio who reinvent pop tunes with an aggressive, jazz-fusion approach, elevating what is sometimes considered frivolous material, beyond its original scope. In the last few years their videos went viral, prompting millions of views and leading to a record contract and world tour with the Grammy winning producer David Foster.
Adopting the Dirty Loops concept, Michelle and company present 80s hits, but with their own bold approach to expanding those songs beyond their original version. It promises to be a night filled with delightful surprises. Remember your favorite songs in a whole new way.
