Six considered “heavyweights” of jazz based in Florida, who have played together for over 15 years for numerous music festivals, jazz societies, clubs, special events, presented numerous jazz education clinics, and released a very well-received double-CD project in 2013, “Renditions: The Summer Sessions.” Featured in the June issue of JAZZIZ Magazine, the project has continued to receive positive reviews in magazines and on internet blogs, to be heard on radio programs world-wide, and enjoy many sales on CDBaby.com, on the kellyscottmusic.com website, and to countless fans at the group’s many shows.

The sextet is co-led by 8- time Downbeat Magazine award winning jazz vocalist LISA KELLY and Warburton signature trumpet artist JB SCOTT. Their first performance together at the 1997 Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland, led to countless appearances as featured soloists and band leaders, 6 co-released CD projects, profiles in the 2010 book, “The New Face of Jazz,” and inductions into the Jacksonville Jazz Festival 2013 and 2017 “Hall of Fame.”

Lisa was the featured vocalist of the 2000 IAJE Sisters in Jazz all female combo, the UNF JE 1 big band, the St. Johns River City Band, and the Larry Elgart Orchestra, and holds a BM and MM in Jazz from UNF.

JB was the former leader of the world-famous Dukes of Dixieland in New Orleans, performed with the Jimmy Dorsey Orchestra and Al Hirt. He is the Coord. of Jazz Studies at UNF, directing the Great American Jazz Series and the acclaimed UNF JE 1 big band.

A legendary trombonist among trombonists to jazz fans, DAVE STEINMEYER performed for 28 years with the esteemed D.C. Air Force big band, the Airmen of Note, leading the band for over 10 years. He appeared in the movie, “A Few Good Men.” Now back in his hometown of Jacksonville, FL, Dave is a freelance artist and the jazz trombone adjunct at UNF, traveling constantly to perform, mentor, and recruit for the college.

Pianist JEFF PHILLIPS is much in demand for his exemplary skills in accompanying vocalists and horns, impeccable leadership of rhythm sections, including his own groups, and for his vast tune knowledge and versatile style ability. Freelancing for years, Jeff is a jazz adjunct at Harrison High SOTA, and an on-staff pianist at Walt Disney World’s Grand Floridian Resort.

Bass instructor and director of JE II at UNF, DENNIS MARKS is known world-wide for his playing in any format, composing, and expertise in soloing. He has toured the world many times as a member of the bands of Maynard Ferguson, Arturo Sandoval, Ed Calle, Dizzy Gillespie, and many others. He is on Sandoval's last six CD recordings, including the Grammy-Award Winning "Hot-House, and on "My Passion for the Piano," writing two of the compositions.

Former drummer of the United States Navy Commodores in D.C, CLYDE CONNOR is a jazz drum professor and big band director at UF in Gainesville, and a much in demand free-lance artist. He has appeared on Beldwin, Warner Bros, and other labels and recordings, and has performed with many jazz notables.
