About the Show: Night at the Movies, is a fourteen-track collection of jazz arrangements of film music that spans a century of cinema - based on Svetlana’s chart topping record Night at the Movies which debuted #1 on Billboard Traditional Jazz Album Charts / #2 on Jazz Album Charts. The concert is also a love letter to dreaming — both the night and its mysteries, as well as reflecting the yearning for something more, escaping from unwanted realities through imagination and optimism, and persevering despite all odds. Svetlana's Night at the Movies takes listeners on a dynamic musical journey that ranges from the French New Wave and Soviet Cinema, to modern day Academy Award-winners, and animated classics - presented by the New York Swing Collective, the ensemble of New York emerging jazz stars. Film and music both express a fleeting beauty. Night at the Movies reflects these moments of joy and passion, sharp humor and reflection, and most of all, fantasy - and the concert program transports the audience to the carnival of sound, seamlessly moving from sophisticated retrospection to a joyful rowdy dance party.

Svetlana's debut album Night at the Speakeasy has been produced by Grammy Award Winning Guy Eckstine, has premiered among the "most added" on JazzWeek and CMJ Jazz Radio charts and has been released to critical acclaim (Top 10 2015 albums, Classicalite, Vents Magazine, Bill's Place Music). Svetlana's 2019 album, Night at the Movies, has debuted #1 on Billboard Traditional Jazz Album Charts / #2 on Jazz Album Charts. It was produced by Grammy Award nominated Matt Pierson, and arranged by Grammy Award winning Gil Goldstein, and features Wycliffe Gordon, Sullivan Fortner, Pasquale Grasso, Rogerio Boccato, and more.
