The Chris Walters Trio presents "Rhapsody In Burlesque: The Music of George Gershwin & Cole Porter".

This program is a deep dive into jazz trio arrangements of works by these two prolific American composers. Works performed will include many of the popular songs written by each composer, as well as some of the more ambitious works of George Gershwin, including "Rhapsody In Blue", "Concerto In F", "Cuban Overture", and excerpts from his opera "Porgy & Bess". All augmented by Chris Walters' unique style at the piano and distinctive singing voice.

Chris Walters is a pianist, singer, composer, arranger, and even an award-winning animator. Born in New Orleans, he relocated to Nashville in 1989. He has toured with Barbara Mandrell, Alabama, and Sony Music Masterworks Recording Artist & Hall of Fame Songwriter JD Souther. When not touring with his own band, Chris currently performs and records as the keyboardist with various artists, including The Alison Brown Quartet, The Peter Mayer Group, and The Jeff Coffin Mu’tet.
