Join us for the Blue Bamboo Jazz Festival 2023! Four concert events September 14th-17th. This evening will feature Chris Cortez in the first set, and Blues Beatles in the second set.

Chris Cortez's solo performances showcase a different side than his typical quartet jazz stylings. Featuring just an acoustic guitar, bluesy vocals, and a handful of stories from the road, Chris takes you on an intimate journey full of wisdom and humor.

Blues Beatles mixes the timeless melodies of the Beatles with traditional Blues arrangements, a combination that has made them a sensation in Brazil, USA and Europe. Typical elements of the blues like instrumental solos and improvisation are an integral part of the Blues Beatles style. The familiar melodies work perfectly in this setting, and the group delivers high energy, rocking versions of your favorite Beatles tunes in a way you never imagined them.

The Blue Bamboo Jazz Festival will also be displaying the exhibit "From Ella to Coltrane: The Jazz Photography of Roger Kallins". This exhibition commemorates the late British photographer Roger Kallins (1938-2013), highlighting some of his best jazz images taken over a period of 50 years. The 45 images on display are originals, scanned from 35mm black-and-white negatives and printed on archival watercolor paper by Kallins himself. They are generously on loan from and curated by Anthony Ehrlich.
