Powerhouse vocalist Katrina Mena Rick partners with the locally acclaimed Julian Bond Trio to present “Dreams Come True” – a celebration of jazz, bossa nova, and Cuban music. Featuring Julian Bond on piano, Charlie Silva on bass, and Don Sanderson on drums.

This show will take you on a musical journey of songs that inspired Katrina as a young girl to pursue her dreams as a singer. The daughter of Cuban exiles, it was through artists such as Celia Cruz, Tito Puente, Sergio Mendes and Astrud Gilberto that Katrina was able to find her musical identity and connect to the culture her family left behind. Katrina’s dynamic range and sultry tone can be heard singing in English, Spanish and Portuguese.

Katrina Mena Rick is a classically trained jazz vocalist who specializes in bossa nova and bolero. Katrina began singing professionally at the age of 8 with the Florida Grand Opera, and has performed both as a featured vocalist for the Puppa Santana Jazz Band in Belo Horizonte, Brazil, as well as background vocalist for recording artists such as Joey Fatone, Ryan Cabrera, and more.

Julian Bond is a pianist, composer, arranger, and actor, originally from Winchester, England. He graduated from the prestigious Guildhall School of Music and Drama with an honors degree in Music Composition, including specialism in conducting, music production, and film scoring. He has maintained involvement in stage and film acting along with his musical career.
