Cubop is an exciting, high-energy ensemble that pays homage to the masters of the Hard Bop era, including Dizzy Gillespie, Art Blakey & the Jazz Messengers, and Horace Silver. Blending Afro-Cuban rhythms with the sophistication of Bebop, Cubop celebrates the Latin-infused side of the Blue Note Records catalog of the 1950s and ’60s.

Since the group’s inception in 2015, Cubop’s repertoire has expanded to encompass a wide range of jazz styles, from Latin jazz and Hard Bop to more progressive, avant-garde works, all grounded in the classic quintet and sextet tradition.

Cubop features Marco Bojorquez on bass, Bob Thornton on piano, Greg Parnell on drums, Joe Bridenstine on trumpet, Jeremy Fratti on tenor saxophone, and Frank Wosar on trombone.
