Carl Fischer's (Billy Joel band member) Sunshine City Brass featuring Jeff Rupert

Multi-instrumentalist Carl Fischer, a member of Billy Joel’s band since 2005 and part of Joel’s record-breaking Madison Square Garden residency and worldwide touring career. Fischer spent more than 12 years alongside jazz trumpet legend Maynard Ferguson, served as music director and lead trumpet player for Blood, Sweat & Tears, and has performed as a featured soloist with Diana Ross. His career has also included performances and collaborations with artists including Wynton Marsalis, Chick Corea, Paul Simon, Sting, Aretha Franklin, Steven Tyler, Elvis Costello, and Gavin DeGraw.

Formed in 2020, Sunshine City Brass offers a jazz journey blending northern and southern grooves, channeling the sound and spontaneity of New Orleans through Fischer’s signature musicianship and an infectious live energy.
