Florida Symphony Youth Orchestras is a non-profit organization that has served Central Florida for over sixty-five years. Today, FSYO serves nearly three-hundred students and is comprised of seven ensembles: three symphonic orchestras, one string-training orchestra, a chamber orchestra, and two jazz orchestras.
The Joseph Wise Jazz Band (formerly Jazz II) is conducted by Kenneth Boyd, and the Alphonse Carlo Jazz Band (formerly Jazz I) is conducted by Richard Drexler. The ensembles focus on the study of big band jazz music. Students learn improvisational skills, jazz theory, and have the opportunity to do sectional work with some of the area's top jazz musicians. The groups include students ages 12 to 20.
Tickets for each concert are $25.00 per person. If you want to attend the Wise Jazz Band and Carlo Jazz Band, we are offering a discounted 2-show ticket for $35.00 per person. Please call Melody Cortez at 407-636-9951 to purchase a 2-show ticket.
