Lisa Kelly/JB Scott 5tet with Guest Saxophonist Dan Jordan

Blue Bamboo Center for the Arts, 1905 Kentucky Ave, Winter Park

Based in Florida, jazz vocalist Lisa Kelly has been performing regularly with her quartet, cultivating a unique repertoire of musical arrangements with her very dynamic rhythm section. The result has been an ensemble bonded in groove, free flowing in spontaneous creativity. Add to Kelly’s signature smooth, warm tone and Ella-influenced improvisation the sassy trumpet lines of JB Scott, with a style steeped in Clark Terry, Satchmo, and Freddie Hubbard, and you’ve got one formidable quintet rich in musical nuance and energy!

The quintet will be collaborating for this special Blue Bamboo concert with one of Orlando’s top jazz residents, renowned saxophonist and flautist Dan Jordan, known for his intimately warm sound, beautifully tasteful lines, and boundless energy. This concert will explore the musical conversation that is jazz, from original compositions to beloved Jazz Standards, expressed in styles of classic swing, straight-8th Latin, light funk, driving bebop, ballads, and a taste of New Orleans!
