Cortez and Friends featuring Jeff Sipe

Friday, April 8, 2022 @ 8:00PM — 10:00PMFri, Apr 8, 2022 @ 8:00PM — 10:00PM

Blue Bamboo Center for the Arts, 1905 Kentucky Ave, Winter Park

Jeff Sipe is the drummer for a diverse collection of musicians including Jonas Helborg, Steve Vai, Randy and Earl Scruggs, Bela Flek, Waylon Jennings, Lucinda Williams, Taj Mahal, Jerry Douglas, Jimmy Herring, Jeff Coffin, Derek Trucks, Kofi Burbridge, John McLaughlin, and Col Bruce Hampton. He was the original drummer for Aquarium Rescue Unit and is the drummer of choice for Jimmy Herring, and Jeff Coffin’s Mutet, featuring Felix Pastorius. Jeff also leads his own trio, featuring Mike Seal and Taylor Lee, and he has published the book Rhythm Patterns for Drum Set.

Jeff's playing defies genre, easily moving from rock, to country, to jazz. In 2014 he appeared on Carol Morgan’s recording Retroactive, and Glen Ackerman’s Glenious Alien Landscape, both for Blue Bamboo Music. More recently he appeared on Cortez/Williams Project, Hermanos with Chris Cortez and Larry Williams.

Jeff is coming to BBCFA to make a live recording with Chris Cortez and Friends. Please join us for a once in a lifetime live recording session as Chris makes another historic recording with one of music’s most versatile and talented drummers.
