Sarasota Slim is much more than just another tune-to-a-chord slide guitar player or a three chord blues pedal-stomping-string-bender - he's also a Bay Area musical icon with an ear for talent. Countless gifted players and singers have come and gone through the Slim camp and come out the other side better for it with a greater appreciation for the nuance and subtlety and the space between the notes as well as the raucous mayhem most often associated with electric guitar. Vocals, lyrics and melody are the most important parts of any song and with that in mind Slim's singing and songs have succeeded and even without a radio hit Slim tunes are being used by other groups near and far. 50 years of guitar playing has produced 7 Sarasota Slim CD's and guest appearances on several others worldwide. Appearing with his band at Blue Bamboo Center for the Arts Saturday July 21.
