Jazz pianist, composer and arranger Phil Magallanes has toured and recorded with Al Di Meola, Arturo Sandoval, Blood Sweat & Tears, Gil Parris, Engelbert Humperdinck, Debbie Gibson and has composed for Spyro Gyra. Phil also leads the award-winning Show Biz Kids 12-piece Steely Dan Tribute and Choosy Muthas, an exciting five-piece funk/fusion group.
Phil’s jazz trio brings a fresh, adventurous take to classic jazz repertoire, as well as performing compelling original compositions. Fans of Bill Evans, McCoy Tyner, Chick Corea, Herbie Hancock, Keith Jarrett, Thelonious Monk, Joe Zawinul and Jan Hammer will hear their influence in Phil’s playing, plus something new.
Joining Phil is the veteran rhythm section of Michael Ross (Liquid Bebop) on bass and James Varnado (George Porter, Dickie Betts, Jon Cleary, Tad Benoit, Charmaine Neville) on drums.
