Millenia is a Jazz Sextet based in Orlando Florida led by saxophonists Ryan Devlin and Sebastian Dones. They studied at North Texas State University and the University of Central Florida.
Rounding out the sextet are James Zito (Manhattan School of Music); Leo Folsom (Miami Frost); Thomas Milovac (University of North Florida) and John Lumpkin (Florida State).
The musicians grew up in the Central Florida area playing sessions and standards with each other through their developing years. Now they're combining their talents to bring each other’s personalities and sounds to one band.
Their music is based on the standard approach of duo saxophonists. As they play the music of their heroes, including Kenny Garrett, Joe Henderson, Lee Konitz Warne Marsh, Cannonball Adderly, John Coltrane, Dick Oatts and Jerry Bergonzi, they also play their own originals to keep things live and fresh!
